Overview
How you’ll be there for students:
Be their advocate, difference maker, and mentor.
Advocate, Guide, and Support: As a Mentor, you will advocate for students, providing individual, small group, and classroom guidance. Your focus will be on addressing academic, emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues to promote enhanced school functioning, with the consent of parents.
Responsibilities
How you’ll do it:
- Obtaining parental consent for participation
- Establishing goals for the students based upon their academic and social-emotional needs
- Interacting with key school personnel, including the school administration and teachers
- Adhere to compliance requirements (i.e., documentation, reporting) as set forth by the NYC Department of Education
- Additional responsibilities as needed and determined by the Mentoring Program Supervisor and/or Site Managers
